Kazimir Malevich, the first abstract painter in the history of modern painting to create purely geometric shapes, was a proponent of Russian Suprematism and also participated in drafting the manifesto of Russian Futurist artists. His artistic ideas spread to Germany and were a precursor to the Bauhaus design philosophy.
This bracelet is inspired by his work “Suprematist Composition”. The “Suprematism” he sought to express is the supremacy of human sensation; this sensation is not just personal or emotional but seeks new revelations in the process of translating the abstract essence of the world into painting.
Additionally, it is worth mentioning that this piece was sold at Christie’s New York auction in 2018 for a final price of $85,812,500, making it the most expensive Russian artwork.
