Piet Mondrian, a Dutch painter, was the mastermind behind the De Stijl movement and one of the founders of non-objective painting, a giant in 20th-century art. His most well-known work, “Composition with Red, Yellow, and Blue”, embodies a formal aesthetic that directly influenced the creations of Pop Art master Roy Lichtenstein and the renowned French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.
This bracelet is inspired by Mondrian’s significant work from his New York period, “Broadway Boogie-Woogie”, which is also his last completed piece. The small, unevenly sized colored rectangles divide and control the canvas, evoking the rhythmic feel of jazz music, as well as the flickering lights of office buildings and streets under the night sky.
